Termite Control in Adamstown – Newcastle
Recently Amalgamated Pest Control was performing some annual pest services at a property in Adamstown and we noticed that some of the fence palings were showing signs or possible termite activity.
The technician reported their findings to the home owner and recommended that a Timber Pest Inspection be done on the property.
Timber Pest Inspection findings
After completing the Timber Pest Inspection (not just a termite check), our technician confirmed that there were termites in the fence.
The termites had made their way from the fence, underneath the house and into the kitchen behind the drawers
We discussed the report and status of the home with the homeowner
The home owner was totally unaware that termites were in the home.
Luckily the termites were only in this area and had not gone anywhere else within the house yet.
It could have been a lot worse if the termites and moved on the main structure or moved to further areas within the home.
How Amalgamated Pest Control provides termite control
We started by preparing a Property Management Plan for the home owner giving a full range of termite treatment options.
Recommendation were made to ensure that we could eradicate the termites from the property and help protect the property from future termite attacks.
How Termite Control was achieved
The first step to be done was to eradicate the termite activity in the fence and in the kitchen behind the drawers.
The active areas where treated directly with a termiticide to eliminate the activity within the structure.
We continued to return to the property to ensure that all termite activity had ceased.
Once the current activity had ceased we move to the next step – protect the home against future termite attacks.
A Termiticide Treated Zone was installed to the external perimeter and sub-floor of the home to help prevent any future termite attack in the structure.
Termite control needs to be maintained
Now that a Termite Management System was in place, the home owner will need to do an annual Timer Pest Inspection to ensure that nothing has changed and no new environmental conditions have emerged that could lead to future termite attack.
